The Volvo XC40 Recharge is the first battery-electric vehicle from Sweden. Externally, it only differs from the combustion XC40 and its plug-in hybrid sibling by a closed radiator grille, missing exhaust tips, and new rim designs.
It is available in two versions; front-wheel drive single motor and the all-wheel-drive dual motor. Visually, there is no difference between the variants and according to WLTP, they also have similar ranges. In the single motor version, the range is 400 kilometres and the dual can reach around 415 kilometres.
The front-wheel-drive electric Swede has an output of 170kW and the all-wheel-drive twin engine version is able to achieve 300kW. The battery capacity differs slightly; in the single-engine Volvo XC40 Recharge there is a 69kWh battery, and the all-wheel-drive has 78kWh.
The cockpit looks very tidy and offers only a few tactile controls in addition to the main display in the middle. The materials in the interior are, as usual with Volvo, high quality and very well processed. The interior package includes sporty styling details and carpets made from recycled materials.
Inside, a newly developed user interface with Google Android technology and a nine-inch touchscreen keeps the driver up to date with relevant information such as the battery status, range, etc.
The boot is able to hold 419 litres in the both single and dual motor versions. When the rear seats are folded, the loading volume increases to 1290 litres. The frunk (front trunk/boot) under the bonnet provides an additional volume of 31 litres.

If you want an existing charger installed, just let your technician know when booking an installation date.
Once the EV charger is in place, the technician can also help you connect any apps for the charger and show you how to use them.

1. Answer: After you fill out a quote request form, you’ll be sent a text message to complete your request on your smartphone. This will include taking and sending photos of your switchboard, desired charger location and more. All of these questions have been carefully curated to ensure we provide you with a fixed-quote.
2. Choose: Our quotes include a recommended EV charger based on our assessment of your home as well as two alternative EV chargers for you to choose from. All options include the delivery, installation and activation of the EV charger quoted at a fixed price — making it easy for you to choose. We also have an installation only service for homeowners looking to have an existing EV charger installed and activated by a technician.
3. Install: We’ll then send you an invoice for payment. If you ordered your EV charger with revcharge, you will receive it before this date. If you have an existing charger you want installed, just let your technician know when booking your installation. Once the EV charger is in place, the installer can also help you connect any apps for the charger and show you how to use it.
