Volvo’s third all-electric model EX90 will also be the largest SUV in the brand’s catalogue. The EX90 follows the XC 90 and unlike its predecessor, does without a combustion engine, the “C” in the name and almost all haptic controls in the interior. The latest technology is also on board, which should make the new SUV one of the most advanced representatives on the market in terms of safety.
On the outside, the edgeless shape of the XC90 is retained and the length remains practically the same at just over five metres. The front grill is omitted entirely and the hammer shaped front lights are really striking at first look.
The XC90 was already electrified as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), but compared to the new EX90, it had a toy battery. Volvo is working on utilising a consistent electric strategy and they want to sell only pure electric cars by the year 2030.
The Swedes have given the EX90 a quite powerful battery with 111kWh. This puts the EX90 on par with the BMW iX which also has a 111kWh battery on board. Consequently, the range according to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) is similarly high at 585 kilometres.
The new Volvo EX90 comes with two electric motors with a total output of 300 kW / 408 hp. When used with full power, the 2.8 ton colossus can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 4.9 seconds and is therefore just as fast as a Porsche Boxster. However, at 180 km/h speed, Volvo’s electrical limiter kicks in.

2. Choose: Our quotes include a recommended EV charger based on our assessment of your home as well as two alternative EV chargers for you to choose from. All options include the delivery, installation and activation of the EV charger quoted at a fixed price — making it easy for you to choose. We also have an installation only service for homeowners looking to have an existing EV charger installed and activated by a technician.
3. Install: We’ll then send you an invoice for payment. If you ordered your EV charger with revcharge, you will receive it before this date. If you have an existing charger you want installed, just let your technician know when booking your installation. Once the EV charger is in place, the installer can also help you connect any apps for the charger and show you how to use it.
