Subaru’s new electric SUV, the Solterra is created on a common platform with the shareholder Toyota. Subaru is known around the world as a specialist for fast 4x4 rally vehicles, but so far, this only applies to cars with combustion engines. Therefore, it’s not surprising that the all-wheel-drive system was created exclusively by Subaru.
The electric drivetrain draws its energy from a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 75 kWh. Each axle gets an 80 kW (109 hp) electric motor and together they have a maximum output of 160 kW. The top speed is limited to 160 km/h by Subaru.
Most of the current generation electric vehicles are suitable for long-distance journeys. In the case of the Subaru Solterra, the range is up to 416 kilometres according to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).
Subaru Solterra has a direct current (DC) fast charging capacity of 150 kW and it can be efficiently charged from 10 to 80 percent in less than half an hour. Alternatively, a 6.6 kW onboard charger is included instead of an 11 kW one like the Toyota bz4x.
In terms of dimensions, the Solterra SUV is comfortably at home in the middle class. It has a voluminous crossover look and weighs around 2 tons, which is typical for electric cars. This is partly due to the battery placed in the vehicle’s underbody, which on the positive side, keeps the Subaru’s centre of gravity low.

1. Answer: After you fill out a quote request form, you’ll be sent a text message to complete your request on your smartphone. This will include taking and sending photos of your switchboard, desired charger location and more. All of these questions have been carefully curated to ensure we provide you with a fixed-quote.
2. Choose: Our quotes include a recommended EV charger based on our assessment of your home as well as two alternative EV chargers for you to choose from. All options include the delivery, installation and activation of the EV charger quoted at a fixed price — making it easy for you to choose. We also have an installation only service for homeowners looking to have an existing EV charger installed and activated by a technician.
3. Install: We’ll then send you an invoice for payment. If you ordered your EV charger with revcharge, you will receive it before this date. If you have an existing charger you want installed, just let your technician know when booking your installation. Once the EV charger is in place, the installer can also help you connect any apps for the charger and show you how to use it.
