Kia has presented its first electric purpose-built vehicle (PBV) with the Niro Plus. As a provider of sustainable mobility solutions, the company pursues various approaches to open up new mobility options for private individuals and companies in addition to the traditional use of cars. Kia believes the brand’s PBV models will play an important role in future mobility.
The Niro Plus is actually produced to be the zero-emission taxi of South Korea. The first generation of the Niro EV was modified in such a way that the electric crossover meets the requirements of modern ridesharing services. Kia sees itself as a pioneer in the PBV market and aims to become the market leader by 2030.
The demand for delivery and logistics services has risen significantly due to the increase in e-commerce as a result of the COVID pandemic. As the PBV market grows, Kia plans to gradually expand its product range from micro vehicles to large PBVs that can provide an alternative to public transportation or even be used as mobile offices.
The general version of the Niro Plus is scheduled to be available in selected international markets in 2023. In addition to the electric version, plug-in and full hybrid variants of the model will also be offered in these markets in order to take country-specific features and different customer needs into account.
Through various changes, Kia tailored the electric crossover to meet the needs of Korean taxi companies. In order to offer the occupants more space, the Niro Plus is significantly taller (80 millimetres) and also slightly longer (10 millimetres) compared to the regular Niro of the first generation. The slimmer seats and thinner door panels also contribute to the increased space.

Once the EV charger is in place, the technician can also help you connect any apps for the charger and show you how to use them.

We help you decide on the right EV charger and take away the headache of getting it installed. Our unique three step process is as follows:
1. Answer: After you fill out a quote request form, you’ll be sent a text message to complete your request on your smartphone. This will include taking and sending photos of your switchboard, desired charger location and more. All of these questions have been carefully curated to ensure we provide you with a fixed-quote.
2. Choose: Our quotes include a recommended EV charger based on our assessment of your home as well as two alternative EV chargers for you to choose from. All options include the delivery, installation and activation of the EV charger quoted at a fixed price — making it easy for you to choose. We also have an installation only service for homeowners looking to have an existing EV charger installed and activated by a technician.
3. Install: We’ll then send you an invoice for payment. If you ordered your EV charger with revcharge, you will receive it before this date. If you have an existing charger you want installed, just let your technician know when booking your installation. Once the EV charger is in place, the installer can also help you connect any apps for the charger and show you how to use it.
