From the perspective of a BMW fan, November 2021 was something very special. In that month, BMW launched two new EV models; the iX and the i4. Both are important for the brand as well as for the customers, but the i4 is on a different level and it shows what the future can bring.
In the future, a BMW without a six-cylinder under the bonnet should also live up to the company motto “sheer driving pleasure”, with a quiet, very energy-efficient electric motor. And when it comes to power delivery, the BMW i4 is even more spontaneous and powerful than a six or eight cylinder engine ever could be.
BMW i4 is available in two different versions. The top version is the BMW i4 M50 with all-wheel-drive, and 400 kW (544 hp). It promises 3.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and a top speed of 225 km/h, so it’s unmistakably a performance vehicle. The steering is extraordinarily precise and the car drives through curves as if on rails.
The basic model is the BMW i4 eDrive40 and it comes with a 250 kW (340 hp) electric motor and rear-wheel-drive. However, due to the high vehicle weight of over 2.1 tons, the lavish engine performance does not feel quite as dynamic as one might expect based on the performance data, so it’s a good cruiser after all.
The battery is the same in both models, it has an energy content of 83.9 kWh, weighs 550 kilograms and should enable a range of 585 kilometres with the basic model, which consumes 16.2 kWh/100 km according to the WLTP standard.
The i4 is a “gran coupe” with five doors, five seats and an ample length of 4.78 metres. BMW specifies the boot volume as 470 litres but it can go up to 1290 litres when the rear seats are down.

1. Answer: After you fill out a quote request form, you’ll be sent a text message to complete your request on your smartphone. This will include taking and sending photos of your switchboard, desired charger location and more. All of these questions have been carefully curated to ensure we provide you with a fixed-quote.
2. Choose: Our quotes include a recommended EV charger based on our assessment of your home as well as two alternative EV chargers for you to choose from. All options include the delivery, installation and activation of the EV charger quoted at a fixed price — making it easy for you to choose. We also have an installation only service for homeowners looking to have an existing EV charger installed and activated by a technician.
3. Install: We’ll then send you an invoice for payment. If you ordered your EV charger with revcharge, you will receive it before this date. If you have an existing charger you want installed, just let your technician know when booking your installation. Once the EV charger is in place, the installer can also help you connect any apps for the charger and show you how to use it.
